1901 Era Imperial German Naval Officer’s Dagger Repro
1901 Era Imperial German Naval Officer’s Dagger
Imperial German Naval Officer’s Daggers are much rarer than Third Reich examples and are quite distinctive.
This is a nice copy of the standard, 1901 pattern officer’s dirk, which was reinstated for wear after an almost 40 year absence.
It features the open crown pommel, a highly polished, double-edged stiletto type blade with center ridge beginning at the ricasso, simulated ivory grip with wire wrapping, double capstan crossguard with fouled anchor, and hammered metal scabbard with “reef knot” style bands.
With its antique silver finish and overall length of 19”
this economically priced piece is a very nice display item and an excellent filler for a rare, World War 1 German dagger.
